Sometimes big things emerge from chance encounters.

As ILC CEO, Randy Morse, and his wife, Janet Mayfield were passing through Montana the other day, they stopped at Little Big Horn on the Crow Reservation — as they always do — a place of tremendous significance to Native North Americans.

“This time I happened to bump into leaders from the local school district and the Crows’ tribal college,” Morse related. “We agreed to start talking about how we might be able to include them in work already begun by ILC-Washington, led by the Kalispel Tribe and with Paul First Nation and ILC-Alberta north of the border.”

“I’m very excited at the prospect of working with the Crows, who have an admirable history of language and culture retention,” Morse added.
